Where is Kinasi
Kinasi is on the south-east coast of Mafia Island, which is 100 km from Dar es Salaam, 150 km south of Zanzibar and 140 km east of the Selous Game Reserve. Mafia Island is part of Tanzania under the Coast Province, rather than under the Zanzibar Archipelago, to which it did belong until 1890. Mafia is in an ideal position as an island destination on itineraries that include the wildlife parks of Selous, Ruaha, Mikumi and the Udzungwa Mountains, as well as for island hopping with Zanzibar and Pemba. Flight connections are short hops of less than an hour. Kinasi Lodge is 14 km from the airport at Mafia's main town, Kilindoni. Kinasi overlooks Chole Bay in the Mafia Island Marine Park.
