We can also provide specific activities and excursions to suit visitors.
History and Archaeology
At Kinasi we are particularly interested in the history of Mafia and the East African coast, once known as Azania. We have collected many reference works on history and archaeology and have made a particular study of Mafia's role in the history of Azania.
We are therefore in an excellent position to offer trips that address the history and archaeology of Mafia and other locations in Tanzania. We have a 10- and 14-day itinerary for safaris including Zanzibar, Bagamoyo, Mafia, Kilwa so please let us know if you would like more details.
Bird-Watching
Mafia is an excellent bird-watcher's location and we are happy to oblige visitors who wish to make trips to locations that will ensure they see as many of the species on Mafia as possible. From experience we have identified sites in forest areas, woodland, swampland, coastal thicket and farmlands.
Kayak Excursions and Fly-camping
The newest addition to special interest activities is fly-camping and touring using our two-man and single kayaks. We hope to expand this activity, especially from Ras Bweni, as the north western side of Mafia has many inlets, islands, bays and beaches that make exploration a complete delight.
