homepage   |    about mafia   |    history & culture   |    nature   |    kinasi   |    activities   |    excursions   |    doing nothing   |    logistics & services Home :: Kinasi :: La lua cheia   La lua cheia In order to provide visitors to Mafia with a complete experience, to see and do all the excursions and dives possible, we are now building La Lua Cheia (the Full Moon) at Ras Bweni, in Mafia's far north (map).   Lua Cheia will be a luxury 'Robinson Crusoe' camp exquisitely furnished in an Africanised Bali style and will have a forest swimming pool, jetty and rooms stepping out directly onto the beach.   While Kinasi provides the 'Bay Experience' with diving and snorkelling inside the protected waters of Chole Bay and the Mafia Island Marine Park, Lua Cheia will be a true beach resort, unrivalled in Tanzania.   In future, guests will have the choice of both retreats and we will have special offers for holidays involving both locations ('Beach and Bay'). The diving at the north of Mafia, off Ras Mkumbi, is also outstanding, and our fishing boat 'Pyxis' will be based at Ras Bweni.   A private runway will provide immediate access by light aircraft and guests will also be able to travel between Kinasi and Lua Cheia by our motorised dhow, 'Ilha da Maf'ya'.   The north of Mafia is quite different terrain and vegetation to that in the south, so Lua Cheia and Kinasi together provide the ultimate island experience.
